Man Utd Seek Public Handout To Fund New Stadium

The 100,000-seat new stadium announced last week by United last week but are yet to reveal how they will pay for the ambitious project. However, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe insisted he wants the new ground to be the “world’s greatest” and believes it will be completed in five years.

Since 1910, Old Trafford has been Manchester United’s home, the club even considered refurbishing the stadium, before electing to build a new ground.

Government backing has already given  to the plans, through UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves which includes a regeneration of the surrounding area.

However, Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told the media that  suspects public money will be used towards the £2billion cost of the new stadium despite all protestations to the contrary.
