Victor Osimhen's Goalless Streak on the Increase Despite Solid Performances

Despite a solid performance against AC Milan on Sunday, Victor Osimhen's goalless streak against the Seven Sisters of Serie A reached eight.

On the night, the Super Eagles striker was at his best, putting in a passionate display.

Olivier Giroud, a former Arsenal and Chelsea striker, scored Milan's sole goal of the night, which proved to be the game-winner.

With the dynamic Osimhen getting involved early in the game, Napoli got off to a strong start. The Nigerian forward wired off the post in the 21st minute before colliding with another player a minute later.

Both sides were able to balance each other out at the end of the first half. In the second half, Milan, on the other hand, came out firing and took the game to the Neapolitans.

Milan's brisk second-half start resulted in a goal four minutes after the restart, as Giroud got on the end of a cross. The goal occurred after Napoli failed to deal with the ball in the box, and it proved to be a sucker-punch for the hosts, who had filled the stadium to 75 percent of its capacity.

Following that, Osimhen encouraged his teammates and shown good energy and strength on several occasions, holding off the defensive duo of Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu.

After a burst of pace through to the right side of the Milan goal in the 86th minute, the striker forced a save from Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, but the angle proved too tight for him on the occasion.

AC Milan now leads Serie A, with local rivals Inter Milan second with a game in hand and Napoli third, three points behind the leaders.
